Blossom are now reinforcing their efforts within the UK market by ramping up their UK based sales team. Blossom has recently appointed a new VP International, James Wilson, who is a recognised player within the local LMS sector, as well as hiring Michael O’Neill as their new Business Development Manager. Michael will be focussing specifically on generating new business within the UK and Ireland. He enthusiastically shares an update on his new responsibilities and the progress made:
- “Joining Blossom has been the highlight of my career, as I’ve always wanted to work specifically in the L&D SaaS industry. It’s a joy to provide a cutting-edge and novel solution to those who need flexibility, top-tier service, and support, as well as a completely tailored LMS solution.”
As Blossom’s highly customisable platform stands out from the conventional learning management systems (LMS), unlike other learning platforms, The technology fits alongside client needs, and modular and scalable features enable seamless integration with an existing LMS or as a stand-alone package. This provides the flexibility to incorporate new modules whenever a business needs them. It eliminates concerns about potential waste associated with current license arrangements on your existing LMS, sparing you from investing additional funds in a new solution.
Since his first day at Blossom, Michael has received outstanding support and mentorship.
- “From day one, I’ve been provided top-tier guidance and support. I’m genuinely excited to be a part of repeating Blossom’s success in a new and receptive market.”
In-line with Blossom’s UK expansion strategy, Michael recently attended two industry-leading Learning and Development (L&D) events. Following his participation in the World of Learning Summit (WOL) event in Birmingham and the Learning and Performance Institute (LPI) Network Conference Event in London, Michael reflects on both events and the key priorities for Blossom to establish a presence in the UK market.
The main discussions at these events revolved around artificial intelligence (AI) and employee mental health and well-being.
John Fletcher, Chief AI Strategist at LPI, shared insights on AI not replacing skills. He emphasised that AI can support these changes as job tasks evolve rather than acting as a substitute. Take a software developer as an example; instead of this employee solely writing code, AI can assist in this process, allowing the worker to concentrate on quality assurance.
Paul McGregor, Founder of Everymind at Work, also spoke about new skills for improving mental health and well-being. Paul shared his lived experience and highlighted the importance of employee mental health being ‘owned’ in the workplace and having designated mental health first aiders. The overarching message was that mental health support is a collaborative effort, not just a tick-box exercise. The key takeaway was that organisations must develop and apply a well-being strategy by understanding the ‘why.’
(We’ve already pointed out that unmet physical and mental health needs rank among the top ten challenges for L&D managers today)
- “The Learning Live Networks event was a welcome breath of fresh air for me as Mental Health and AI seem to be all anyone can talk about in our industry. It was refreshing to have some honest, invested, and insightful takes on the topics. Not only did I enjoy the guest speakers, but I made meaningful connections, both professional and personal, for life. I’m eagerly awaiting the next event.”
Bringing together prominent experts, brands, and professionals from the L&D community, both events provided the impetus for meaningful conversations. Michael and the team engaged with numerous L&D experts who expressed their frustrations with current LMS providers.
Blossom also learned about the continual decline in customer service from other L&D technology providers. Participants shared their frustrations with not getting the help and support they needed when they needed it.
Attendees discussed the inflexibility and lack of customisation in other LMS solutions, emphasising the need for a more adaptable and less rigid option. The apparent demand for a flexible solution was evident. Given Blossom’s fully modular nature, organisations can selectively choose components to meet their requirements precisely.

- “Our presence was warmly welcomed by some big names who were delighted and relieved to find that an LMS that transforms the learning experience for users exists.”
The recent industry event left Michael and the team inspired by the shared enthusiasm, valuable insights, and unwavering dedication among participants.
